Hi, I’m Charlie - a gold-standard NCTJ-qualified journalist and audio producer, covering news, social affairs and culture

​​​​I’ve always been enthralled by the intimacy and immediacy of audio, and have more than five years of experience as a producer working for broadcasters, news outlets, and production companies. I have worked across a variety of podcast formats, including narrative, always-on and interview based shows. From sourcing eloquent and insightful guests, fact checking and writing compelling scripts, to applying elegant sound design and finessing story structure, I love all aspects of the audio production process. 

 

​​I'm a producer for Sky News's This is Why daily show, and currently edit Art Review’s bi-monthly podcast. I was selected as one of twelve participants for Multitrack’s Off-Mic Returns programme in partnership with Audible on narrative documentary-making. As a skilled audio editor, mixer and sound designer using Adobe Audition, Reaper and Descript, I’m passionate about crafting compelling stories to enlighten listeners and was previously employed by the production company Message Heard to produce and present The Standard’s daily news podcast from booking to broadcast. I’ve also worked for The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, BBC Radio 4, Times Radio and Podmasters.
